The Tale of The Hubkeeper

The scene: Thursday, 8:57 a.m. LIFT99 Telliskivi.

We hear the doorbell ring and see a cheerful redhead greet visitors at the door, inviting them in and introducing herself. She gives a group of Startup People™ the tour of the office, going from the Caffeine Corner in the kitchen to the dark recesses of the upstairs office, known as the Lair of the Prissy Printer. As the tour progresses we find out that this is the elusive Hubkeeper!

She’s who we’re here for today!

With the tour finished and coffee gotten, it is time for the Hubkeeper to get to work! As the rest of the people get down to business, checking Slack, clearing their inbox, and sending emails without the necessary attachments, we see the Hubkeeper sitting at one of the tables amid the people. But what is she doing? Observe, as she goes from emailing someone about deviled eggs to a Slack message about the internet being on the fritz to a phone call about… the air, whatever that means?! This seems like a lot but for the intrepid Hubkeeper, it’s just another day.

As the day gets going, we see members flooding into the office, the coffee machine whirring incessantly and we spot a Startup Person™, who needs to print an important document because they conduct important business on paper. They go to print, but, oh, gadzooks, it doesn’t work and just gives them a cryptic error message. What to do? Whom to call?? Some call her the Tamer of The Toner Thief, others the Princess of Printer Ink, we know her as our very own Hubkeeper. She knows exactly how to quell the anger of the printer and get the document printed. No task too big or small for She Who Tames The Printer.

Our day of chatting, working, playing ping-pong, and overcaffeinating at LIFT99 is slowly coming to an end as the clock strikes 5. Most people have either already left or are on their way out the door but we can see one person still working. She’s emptying the dishwasher, her hands indifferent to the searing touch of the glass–is it the Hubkeeper’s ginger hair color that gives her resistance to fire damage?!

Such is the short tale of the Hubkeeper–a heroic being of incredible ability. Do you have what it takes to fill her shoes?
